IN AN EMERGENCY
Emergencies – When Not to Contact the Practice
Patients should be advised to dial 999 or attend A&E for the following:
- Chest pain or suspected heart attack
- Difficulty breathing or severe asthma attack
- Stroke symptoms (e.g. facial droop, slurred speech)
- Major trauma or severe bleeding
- Loss of consciousness or seizures
- Severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis)
- Suicidal intent or acute mental health crisis (alternatively: NHS 111 or 999 as needed)
