IN AN EMERGENCY

Emergencies – When Not to Contact the Practice

Patients should be advised to dial 999 or attend A&E for the following:

  • Chest pain or suspected heart attack
  • Difficulty breathing or severe asthma attack
  • Stroke symptoms (e.g. facial droop, slurred speech)
  • Major trauma or severe bleeding
  • Loss of consciousness or seizures
  • Severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis)
  • Suicidal intent or acute mental health crisis (alternatively: NHS 111 or 999 as needed)
