Prescriptions
Getting Repeat Prescriptions
You can get your repeat prescriptions by:
- Putting your prescription slip in the box at reception.
For a quicker service, download the NHS App using this link: NHS App and your NHS account. Also by TPP-patient portal via our website (ask us for your username and password).
Make sure to tick the items you need on your form and request them before 11:00 AM. Your prescription will be ready in SEVEN working days.
We don’t take repeat prescription requests over the phone or by email.
We want to make sure your medication is right for you. If you haven't been seen recently, you might need to make an appointment for a review with a pharmacist.
You can use NHS App to track your prescription.

Prescription Fees
Help with NHS costs
In England, around 90% of prescription items are dispensed free. This includes exemptions from charging for those on low incomes, such as:
- those on specific benefits or through the NHS Low Income Scheme
- those who are age exempt
- those with certain medical conditions
- More information is available at NHS Choices
NHS Charges
From 1 May 2024, the NHS prescription charge will rise to £9.90. The cost of an NHS prescription prepayment certificate (PPC) will be:
- £32.05 for three months
- £114.50 for 12 months (patients can spread the cost and pay in 10 monthly instalments)
The cost of an NHS hormone replacement therapy (HRT) PPC will be £19.80.
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
